The evening offered a candid look at how different municipalities are approaching similar challenges —from changing demographics, the pressures related to these changes and the need for flexible policies to ensure resilience for the futures for our cities. We are excited to share that the Final Report recommending approval for the proposed redevelopment of 45 Grenoble Drive was adopted at April’s Toronto City Council meeting. This project proposes to transform the existing vacant space at the southeast corner of the site into a new purpose-built rental apartment building that will support the activation and animation of Grenoble Drive and bring new amenities for existing and future residents to enjoy. Bousfields is proud to have led the planning, urban design and community engagement for the project, in close collaboration with the rest of the project team, including BDP Quadrangle, STUDIO tla, and RJ Burnside, on behalf of Gateway Properties. Our Planning Intern, James Burden, is wrapping up his term today. He brought thoughtful questions, steady execution and a willingness to contribute to our teams over the last few months. Shout out to Anne James for mentoring with intention and helping this future planner to grow. Thank you James for all your contributions! Wishing you a great return to your studies at Waterloo Here are some key takeaways James’ time with us: “My time at Bousfields has been an amazing learning experience! Bousfields is proud to have worked with the Toronto Tempo, Canada’s first WNBA team, and City Staff on the planning applications for the Toronto Tempo Performance Centre (701 Fleet Street). This first‑of‑its‑kind facility will allow community members to share a world‑class performance centre alongside elite athletes. It will be a space where everyone is welcome and will be built in partnership with grassroots organizations across the Greater Toronto Area to expand access to basketball.

Bousfielders explored the diverse food scene along Yonge Street between Dundas and Bloor, featuring hidden gems and must‑try spots. Michael Super

Michael joined Bousfields in March 2017 as a community designer. With over 20 years of professional experience in community design principles, Michael brings an extensive background and diverse skills to the Bousfields team. As a key member of Community Design, Michael’s responsibilities include producing high quality Draft Plans of Subdivision, Block Plans, Site Plans and other graphic representations of all kinds. His knowledge and experience has proven to be an asset to the design services offered by the firm.

Originally a graduate of Ryerson’s School of Geography, Michael has experience working in many municipalities throughout the Greater Toronto Area. He brings knowledge of various software applications and a solid foundation in design principles to the Bousfields team. When not involved with design work, Michael can be found in the backcountry of Algonquin Park or boarding down the slopes of the nearest mountain.

Michael is a Graphic and Communication Designer specializing in identity design and brand management. A graduate of Ontario College of Art + Design University, Michael holds a Bachelor of Design with a major in Industrial Design.

His work at Bousfields focuses on graphic design, branding and strategy: developing integrated brand experiences designed to function across print, digital and environmental applications. Michael’s skillset facilitates complex, multi-stakeholder brand solutions, art direction, concept development, copywriting, environmental design, signage and web design.

Gabriela Solbach

Gabriela is a Graphic Designer, with a focus on Brand and Identity design. Her design education began at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) as a 2013 graduate with an Associate Certificate of Design (Distinction). Inspired to learn more, Gabriela continued her education, with earning a diploma from the Visual College of Art & Design (VCAD) in 2015, where she presented her work in the VCAD Portfolio Show held at the Harbour Centre in Vancouver, BC.

Gabriela looks at each project from every angle, to create fresh ideas and appropriate designs. Her work at Bousfields includes, but is not limited to; production design, preparation of graphics for the Planning and Community Engagement departments, website design, designing marketing materials specifically for social media marketing, and company branding.
