In our pursuit of building and advancing a more diverse, equitable and inclusive Bousfields, we endeavour to be honest and transparent about where we have been, where we are at, and where we hope to go.
We will learn from our failures and build on our successes. The key to our successes will be the consistency in which we apply a DEI lens to the everyday and strategic decisions made at Bousfields.
This is our commitment to do what is within our abilities to uphold Diversity, Equity and Inclusion:
- Diversity
We are based in one of the most diverse regions of the world and we are working to be a firm that reflects the diversity of the communities we work in. From our recruitment and retention practices to our methods of engagement, we are always evolving to bring new voices and opinions into our workplace and into the projects we work on. - Equity
We strive to make planning, urban design and community engagement more accessible and equitable, whether it is creating more opportunities for individuals to get into and succeed in the planning and development industry through programs, mentorship, scholarships, etc., or by using tools and practices that allow more people to participate effectively and meaningfully in the planning and design processes. - Inclusion
We welcome all and want everyone to feel like they belong and that they can be their authentic selves. Whether in our office, at a community meeting or elsewhere, an inclusive and collaborative approach brings about constructive solutions, creativity and positive change.

The evening offered a candid look at how different municipalities are approaching similar challenges —from changing demographics, the pressures related to these changes and the need for flexible policies to ensure resilience for the futures for our cities. It was valuable to hear where priorities are aligning and where they’re diverging across the region.

Thank you James for all your contributions! Wishing you a great return to your studies at Waterloo
Here are some key takeaways James’ time with us: “My time at Bousfields has been an amazing learning experience! I would like to thank the team for giving me the opportunity to meaningfully contribute to a variety of projects. The mentorship program gave me the support and guidance I needed to grow over the past four months. I have gained skills and experiences that I will carry with me in future co-op terms and my career as a planner. Thank you to everyone at Bousfields, I hope our paths cross again in the future.”
This first‑of‑its‑kind facility will allow community members to share a world‑class performance centre alongside elite athletes. It will be a space where everyone is welcome and will be built in partnership with grassroots organizations across the Greater Toronto Area to expand access to basketball.
It’s not everyday that engagement practitioners get to exchange insights and learn from one another - suffice it to say, it was a very engaged group 😊
Thank you to the TCHC team for inviting and hosting us at their Leslie Nymark community. It’s always inspiring to get to see the spaces and places IRL that community engagement helps to shape!

On March 25, 2026, City Council adopted recommendations from Community Planning staff to approve Official Plan Amendment and Zoning By-law Amendment applications for the site, along with alterations to a designated heritage property, to permit a 65-storey (243.5 metres, including mechanical penthouse) mixed-use building containing 648 residential units and 68 square metres of retail space along Yonge Street. The tower partially cantilevers over an existing 8-storey designated heritage building containing a hotel at 56 Yonge Street (Hotel Victoria), which will be retained.
