Courtney joined Bousfields in March 2019 as a Senior Planner. She holds a Bachelors of Arts (Honours, Human Geography) from Brock University and a Master of Planning (Urban Development) from Ryerson’s School of Urban and Regional Planning. During her time at Brock University, Courtney participated in an academic exchange program, which involved studies in Geography and History at Swansea University in Wales, UK. Prior to joining Bousfields, Courtney worked in the private sector as a land use planner for another consulting firm in Toronto and, prior to that, worked at the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing where she was involved in conducting the Provincial Policy Statement Review (2005) five-year review.
Courtney is actively engaged in a broad range of development projects in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area. Her responsibilities include the management of various development applications including official plan and zoning by-law amendments, site plan approvals, draft plans of subdivision and condominium and committee of adjustment applications. She is also responsible for providing research and analysis towards the preparation of planning rationale reports, land use options reports and highest and best use studies. Courtney is a member of the Canadian Institute of Planners and is a Registered Professional Planner in the Province of Ontario.
